Sol
A concept solar tracker.
This project was completed in 2018 and was primarily to gain knowledge in control systems and sensor feedback loops. The system uses an array of LDRs (Light Dependent Resistors) to determine the Sun's position and shifts the panel accordingly.
Sol 1 (above) was my initial proof of concept prototype. It was made using cardboard and foam and was solely to test firmware. This device was followed by Sol 2 (title image). Sol 2 used laser-cut plywood, making it more robust and aesthetically pleasing.
